Sustainability forms an integral part of our business strategy. We are convinced that we can only achieve lasting commercial success if we balance economic growth with ecological and social responsibility.

The site has a full-fledged effluent treatment plant, solid/liquid waste incinerator and various gas scrubbers, keeping emissions and wastes under control.

QHSE

The QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Protection) team ensures that business is conducted with respect and care for the environment, without compromising on the health and safety of employees, neighbors and customers. Bayer Vapi is recertified for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 till September 2026.

Responsible Care

Responsible Care® is a voluntary commitment by the global chemical industry to drive continuous improvement and achieve excellence in environmental, health and safety performance. Bayer Vapi has been awarded permission to use Responsible Care logo by the Indian Chemical Council on December 5, 2019 and has been recertified till 2025. The development is a result of successful audits of site based on the 7 codes of Management Practices viz. Process Safety, Employee Health & Safety, Pollution Prevention, Emergency Response, Distribution, Product Safety & Stewardship and Security.

In 2023, Bayer Vapi Pvt. Ltd. was awarded Certificate of Merit for “Best Compliant Company for Process Safety Code” under Responsible Care by the Indian Chemical Council for the year 2022. Earlier in 2019, Bayer Vapi Pvt. Ltd. was adjudged the winner for ‘Pollution Prevention’ and ‘Emergency Response’ by the Indian Chemical Council (ICC). These awards are the result of several industry-leading initiatives by Bayer Vapi such as high HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards for working safely and responsibly.

We assess the possible health and environmental risks of a product along the entire value chain. This starts with research and development and continues through production, marketing and use by the customer through to disposal. We don't just focus on the safe handling and use of our products, but also on transparent communication and transfer of product safety information.

Ecology

Bayer is working continually on solutions that reduce environmental impact and conserve resources. We see the ecological challenges posed by the growing global population and advancing climate change as part of our corporate responsibility and at the same time as an opportunity to produce more cost-effectively and to develop new market opportunities. We are committed to reduce CO2 emission by using renewable energy like wind power and solar energy.
