Simon Wiebusch
Simon Wiebusch is the President of Bayer South Asia and Vice Chairman, MD & CEO of Bayer CropScience Ltd (BCSL). He assumed these roles on November 01, 2023, in addition to his current role of Country Divisional Head for the Crop Science Division of Bayer in India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka (IBSL).
As part of the Crop Science Division in IBSL since December 2018, Simon has been a strong proponent of digitization and sustainability in agriculture. He believes that technology and digital farming tools can transform the agricultural ecosystem, strengthen food security and improve farmer livelihoods.

Simon started his career with Bayer in 1998 based at the company’s headquarters in Germany. He built his professional experience by working across various functions such as Sales Support, Operations, Tender Management, Controlling, and Strategy, within Germany, Eastern Europe, and Asia. He went on to become the Chief Executive Officer for Bayer’s Crop Science Division in South East Asia, based in Bangkok, Thailand, and eventually took over his current role at Bayer’s South Asia headquarters in Mumbai, India.
Simon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Applied Sciences in Essen, Germany, and an MBA from the University of Bradford. He has more than two decades of experience in the agriculture industry. Customer-focused and motivational, Simon’s key strengths include unlocking business growth, redefining distribution strategies, driving change management and building diverse teams that drive market share and create business value.
Simon was appointed as an Additional Director with effect from December 17, 2021. He was also appointed as the Whole Time Director of the Company with effect from December 17, 2021.
