India’s first termiticide to receive prestigious GreenPro certification

Bayer’s Premise® receives GreenPro certification from IGBC

Premise GreenPro certification

Mumbai, November 4, 2020: Premise®, Bayer’s trusted termite-control brand has been awarded the GreenPro certification by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), a part of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). Premise is India’s first termiticide to be awarded the GreenPro certification, which honors outstanding green building products and technologies. Customers planning to get an IGBC certificate for their building will receive one credit point for using Premise®.

Launched in India in 2004, Premise® is used for anti-termite treatment in the pre-construction and post-construction segment. Over the last five years, Premise® has protected over 250 million square feet of constructed buildings in India. Premise® has also been used to termite-proof the base of the iconic, 597 feet tall, Statue of Unity in Gujarat.

Speaking about the certification for Premise®, Dr. Arun Kumar, Head of Environmental Science, Bayer South Asia, said, “The GreenPro certification for Premise® is an endorsement of Bayer’s sustainability commitments towards greener and cleaner products. We are delighted that Premise® is India’s first termiticide to win this recognition by the CII-IGBC.”

The active ingredient in Premise® is Imidacloprid, which is a low dosage (2.1 ml/ litre solution for application) molecule which works extremely well for colony management of termites. In comparison to alternatives which work by repelling termites, Imidacloprid works through a non-repellant technique; where the termite is exposed to the chemical which is later transferred to the other members of the termite colony. This technology is odorless and is water-based, making it a highly desirable option for safe and easy application.
